What would you suggest for killing them? I've tried a lot of things! Keep in mind, I have 50 chickens.. I'm to the point where I might have to try Ivermec once egg production slows down.

Will spraying chickens' legs with a permethrin spray kill scaly leg mites?

Can someone tell me what is wrong with this chicken? She doesn't seem to have an issue with getting around. Could it be a uncommon reaction to scaly leg mites?

Injectable for cattle. It hasn't been clear no matter what type is used.

I have read this in the past. It still doesn't indicate if another dose is required after X amount of days. It doesn't matter what type of Ivermec I use, it is not clear. I think I will phone the farm vet next week.

Anyone?

Keep in mind I'm talking about leg mites, not the type that's consistently on and off the chicken depending on when they feed.

My chickens are not laying right now, so I thought it would be the best time to treat with Ivermec for the stubborn scaly leg mites. I will be treating orally in their water. MY QUESTION: How many TIMES do I need to do this to totally kill of scaly leg mites? Just once? If twice, how soon...

Do you have to dose again in 10 days or so, or does this kill the eggs?

I would in the summer, but I don't think some of my chickens would make the winter if I did that! I thought some were just molting, but there are so many egg clusters :(

Some had tons of egg clusters; some had no lice at all. I treated again tonight and I will again in another 9 days ish.

Do you think I should spray again after 7 days? Or wait a little longer?
