Stunted/Blind Chick

Everything I can find is about using it in cows/sheep/goats and it's injected into the lower eyelid. Also said on one site to flush with water if it contacted the eye as it could cause irritation. I would be reluctant to use it in the eye, and I would think it would be difficult to inject into a chickens eye lid. I personally would stick with something that is intended by design to be used in the eye, unless i was working directly with a vet.

I've just been continuing with the polysporin drops and she seems better. She eats more and notices me (with her eyes closed) when I move in front of the cage. The swelling seems to be down more too.

OK so there has been no more improvement.... I am not able to find anyone who will give me or has Terramycin ointment; however, I was talking to an experienced farmer who said the injectable is just a concentrated form of the ointment. I put a few drops in some polysporin ointment and applied on the eye lids (the mixture should last me about 4 days)... I am not sure if I should apply to the eye though.. It is diluted pretty good - so it's worth a shot if there is no improvement..
I could also try injecting if this fails.

If you have injectable oxytetracycline (Terramycin) you can give it by injection to treat for possible mycoplasma (MG, CRD) which can cause swollen eyes. I am not sure of dosage for that—it depends on the brand name and strength. One medicine I can recommend is Tylan 50 (tylosin) injectable which you can give 2-3 times a day by mouth or orally, or by injection. Dosage is 0.3 ml per pound. Give for 3-5 days.
