    Brown recluse bite! !??

That looks horrible. We had a rescue opossum come in with a recluse bite a few years ago, it was a booger to treat, took forever to heal and left a nasty scar. It's hard to really tell from the pictures, but it looks like the tissue is necrotic. As BYC910 stated, at this stage a vet would be of...

Comment by 'GardenWren' in article 'Homemade Chicken Feeder & Waterer Designs & Pictures'

We were having a lot of problems with the chickens wasting food... A LOT of food. So, we decided to make a no waste gravity feeder. Works great and has cut the feed bill significantly. They can also be made just about any size to accommodate your specific needs. The PVC elbows create "portholes"...

Are you sure the frizzles didn't come from the eggs you got from me? They look about the right age and look almost identical to ones I've hatched recently as well as those a good friend hatched from our flock. :).. And the white/red one I'm pretty sure is the full sister to this little girl.

I just wanted to say I got my BBS Spitzhauben eggs from PhoredaBurds the other day and was very pleased and impressed with how well they were packed! 15 big, beautiful eggs went into the incubator lastnight and we're all on pins and needles waiting to see how they do. Hoping for a good hatch! I...

@TJchickens The Porcelain D'Uccle eggs I got from you just went into lockdown. I cant say enough good things about these little jewels. Of 12, 8 still look great! Hoping they go the distance and we have an awesome hatch.

×3 I've about decided to change my ship days to Friday/Saturday. From all the feedback I've received, it seems eggs shipped on those days fare much better than early week shipments. Could be a total fluke, but I'm willing to try almost anything to get them to their destination safely.

I know I sure am pleased with the Porcelain D'Uccle eggs I got from TJchickens. Set them the 21st, just candled them and 11 of 12 are developing beautifully. Can't go wrong there!

    Hatchery Choices

I decided to give Ideal a try and am exceedingly pleased with them so far. I ordered 6 Shamos, 4 Siapan and 4 Malays and every one of them is beautiful. They threw in 8 RIR "packing peanuts" but I don't mind that as they'll eventually end up taking a trip to freezer camp. They shipped them out...

I can check with my father-in-law's father-in-law. He raises quail. We've been discussing making a short trip up to visit the family and pick up some eggs while we're there. We haven't ironed out when we're going yet, and I'm not 100% sure what breeds he raises, but if you want to message me I'd...
