    3-5 day old chick with severed toe hanging on by tendon or ligament....

    I have a chick with a severed toe that is hanging on by a tendon or ligament. It's not bleeding, the tip that came off is black and the very end of the attached toe is black. Do I leave it to fall off on it's own or snip it off and bandage the area?

    That's the same conclusion I came to this afternoon while working out in the yard. Didn't want to do that but seems that's the only choice. I will have to close the coop at night but I can make it work with a "wind block wall". thank you!
