    Should we incubate eggs??

Thanks for the advice everyone! It’s only been today that she will not sit, and two days ago for several hours when she got lost. I think we will candle them to see if we can tell if they are viable. If she won’t go back, I have a broody Muscovy also. Should I put the eggs under her? She has a...

    Should we incubate eggs??

Hi everyone, We have several ducks and chickens. We found that one of our khaki Campbell females was sneaking out of the run, and long story short, she was making a nest. By the time we caught on to what she was doing, she had a full nest and that same night was when she was ready to start...

    Sharing nesting boxes....

My chickens frequently squabble over nesting boxes. I will often see two birds squished into one box, or one bird standing there, staring down another while she waits for the nest 😂

Is it normal for hens to have beef with each other?

So funny. Two of my hens, Easter Egger and an olive egger, were going at it the other day, chest bumping and squawking. Then my barred rock, who is so docile and friendly, and who I didn’t think was at the top of the pecking order, marched in between the two of them and loudly broke them up! It...

    Need eggs!

It’s been two days with no eggs so I think I’m going to have to give in and buy eggs tomorrow :( . It’s funny the comments I see about the Easter Eggers! I have just one but she is a total spaz! She will lay every day for ages, then not lay for awhile, then go broody..she is so unpredictable...

    Need eggs!

I have held out on buying eggs but I’m afraid we may have to now..almost all the birds, even the ducks, molted in the late fall. No eggs today and only one yesterday 😩. Maybe we will try adding just a couple of hours of light!

    Need eggs!

Wow that’s a lot of chickens! We 13 chickens and 12 ducks, but several of the ducks are males. Many of my neighbors have chickens also. So it’s feast or famine on our street 😂

I don't know if my chicken is secretly laying eggs!!

I frequently find hidden egg stashes around my yard (and neighbor’s). Especially in the warmer months when everyone is fighting to sit in the same box :D

    Need eggs!

I can’t wait for spring for several reasons, but mainly because I am totally out of eggs! I just took my last two frozen eggs out for tomorrow morning. We are still getting the occasional duck and/or chicken egg but we have no more frozen ones for a backup! I am so looking forward to collecting...

    ComeJoin Duck club!!

Hi I have always fed my ducklings chick starter. I only recently saw duck feed at my feed store. Now they all get flock raiser, since the ducks and chickens are outside together. It’s impossible to separate their food. I hope this helps! I have not used grit 😬 should I have?

    ComeJoin Duck club!!

The ducks are awesome! Not many eggs right now unfortunately. 5 are drakes. One female is still too young. And the Muscovys kind of lay in spurts; they are not known for laying tons of eggs. I hope the ducks and chickens pick up soon!
