I am wondering if I should put a timer on my heat lamp to turn it off at night. Or just leave it on all the time?
My chicks are right now one week old.
I sort of do what Dobie Lover does. I rake up the Poo with a Horse poo shovel with a fine screen on it. Then smooth out the sand and PDZ horse mixture under the 1 inch dowels for roosts . I have gravel in the bottom of the coop. No perches or poo boards to clean.
I have 28 chicks that are about a week old. Have a red heat light suspended about 18 inches above the brooder. Chicks seem to wnt to huddle over in the corner. I have tried turning the lamp on or off. I makes no difference to them. So what do you all think about this huddling? Oh, they are...
