    Your fav?

I love my Africans. They are friendly and lovable and great weeders! . They have free run of my garden in the Spring and Summer. They definitely have personality. They are pretty laid back and get along with my ducks and Guineas and peafowl. However, they will be defensive of their turf to...

Your flock is gorgeous! Amazing colorations! I snapped a couple of pics where you can see the more golden feathers on their backs. I also snapped one of one of their throats. They both have the golden flecks on their necks as well. Unfortunately there wasn't any sun today but here they are...

As far as where the Guineas come from, it is all local and pardon me for not wanting to give you a full address but this is the internet and Pennsylvania should be satisfactory. As far as any type of claim to fame or patent...we are all farmers. 99% of the people around here are not buying...

    Thwarted Hawk Attack

Interesting how different their behavior can be dependent upon their habitat and readily available prey

Where’s the best hatchery to buy assorted geese.

If you are located in Pennsylvania and want to pick up instead of mail order, Knisley's Pet and Farm always has quality Geese.

    Brown Chinese or African?

Oh my they are beautiful geese! Look very happy as well and what a great place you have for them! Chinese and African are tricky. They can both have dewlaps but the Africans are usually larger. Also Africans tend to be stockier. There can also be crosses of the African and Chinese as well which...

    Thwarted Hawk Attack

So, a month ago I started seeing a Red Shouldered Hawk (which are stunning btw) hanging around near the main area where my birds free range. I was a bit concerned because while we have Cooper's, Sharp Shinned, and Red tails around as well the first two are generally too small to try to take...

I'm sorry. I haven't been on in a while. I did not get the coloration name off of a chart. They look as if they have gold eye shadow lightly applied to their backs in places but not all over. This is what they are sold under in our area and this color variation has been produced over and over...

I have two males total. One will be three and will be a year old. The oldest male is the last survivor from my first large flock. (Neighbors dog and owls) The one in the background is considered a Gold Dust.

Sad loss of Casper; warning graphic pic!

OMG! I am so sorry for your loss. We are fighting the same battle with a "neighborhood" dog that keeps getting out. He frequents the same farms because he knows he is able to kill things there. He gets out all of the time and the owner does not care. Even went as far to threaten people to shut...
