Names of your Chicken Domains ?

The Robinson family settled this property, they died and the place sat vacant for ten or more years (the local kids used it in those years as a party place. Locals always refer to this place as the old Robinson homestead; we were trying to think of a name for this place and we knew it had to...

    New waterfowl pen

The muscovies are pretty neat (messy but neat as in cool lol). I had 17 babies hatch last week. There are 8 eggs in the incubator and another muscovy is sitting on ten eggs. Won't be long before I'll be going across the road to fence in the neigbors field (he even has a pond).

    New waterfowl pen

I had been letting the geese free range and they have done a good job of keeping the property mowed. I went out and bout a brand new lawn mower five weeks ago; I mowed the day I got the lawn mower and that has been it. The geese are great lawn mowers but there is a problem with them wandering...

    New waterfowl pen

I got tired of the mess the geese and ducks make around the chicken coop so today I got some fence and made them a new area to mess up. The new pen area is quite large. It took 400 feet of fencing. It about kills a person to mow this area so I decided to put the geese and ducks to work mowing...

    do ducks eat wasps?

I watched a bumble bee flying around my baby ducks, the ducks ran and screamed like little girls LOL Can't blame the ducks though, the bee was almost as big as they were.

    Clean coops

I had a couple hundred chickens one year. The coop was very easy to keep clean during the warmer months but once winter hit that was another story. I had to wait until spring to clean out the winter bedding. I was thankful I had thought ahead and had a window put in low that opened out. I was...

Think I got a fake paypal email...........what do I do?

I get these paypal spams all the time. I also get ebay spams all the time. I know the spam isn't coming from either paypal or ebay but it sure does make me wish I'd never used either; if I hadn't I wouldn't be dealing with so much spam. Both scams are very tricky and I am sure many people far...

    Thinking about getting turkeys

Cheri, what you going to name the fourth one? Don't you think maybe he/she would need company LOL OOPS, guess you did not name one of them after a specific holiday, you named it holiday dinner (very original). Come on, there are broadbreasted turkeys for the dinner table, the heritage breeds...

    Sebastopol

No, they are very easy to raise. They are very hardy. They also like hanging out on steps, decks, the porch, in the middle of the driveway. Basically, they hang out wherever they're not supposed to, but the benifit is they are great lawnmowers, fertilizers and watchdogs.

    Sebastopol

Hi Ozark Hen, They are three years old. I got them at a year old. They are pretty neat geese. I wish the male looked as good as the female, guess she just wears her feathers better. Here is a picture of the female and male Sebs in snow with their buddy the male muscovy standing outside the pen...

    Thinking about getting turkeys

That's a bummer about the turkeys. Good luck with the others. I love turkeys. Here is a picture of the royal palms I got on father's day.

I live in New Hampshire and have a pair of Sebs. My Sebs handled the winter really good. I didn't have any problems with them at all. The snow and cold never bothered them. I used a doghouse with shavings in it as their winter home. The even mated in the snow, started layin eggs in March while...
