    So I was given this new bird because it didn't get along with a friends larger flock. She has adjusted well to my girls, but I have no idea if it is a particular breed or mixed breed, anyone know? Previous owner thought it might be a Rhode Island Red.

    Thanks for the coaching tip, I have tried it and they return in the evening, however I only turn them loose when I'm working outside.

    I have four hens very friendly get along well with each other, good layers. Do I let them run free on days that I am home and will they come back to the coop on their own?

    Thanks for the input. She is a good layer, egg brown a little bit bigger than a golf ball. She is Queen of the brood.

    Thanks for the input, I think she is mixed. Great layer , brown eggs slightly smaller than my Golden Comets and she is in charge of the brood.

    What breed is this black feathered footed hen, she stands about a 12" at full height. Picked her up at an auction.
