    Chicken vent in distress

Do you have any experience with fungal infections? I was thinking that could be what it is.

    Chicken vent in distress

Thank you for your help. It is big, like the size of a belly. I gave her two tums already cause I thought she was egg bound. I lubricated the vent opening as well and gave her three baths. I am nervous to try the syringe but I will research ascites now. I have not heard of it.

    Chicken vent in distress

My girl Sally is having an issue that I have not experienced. I have had chickens over 6 years and she is only 4. I thought she was egg bound because she was lethargic and docile, walking funny, usually she is very active. She had a poopy butt so I put her in an Epson salt bath. She didn't mind...

Help - having a hard time getting rid of my roo roo chick

I got him from an assorted bantam box but think maybe cochin or booted bantum. he is small for that reason but so far he is pretty chill. If he would survive the ship I would do it, he is about 12 weeks old.

Help - having a hard time getting rid of my roo roo chick

Been doing this chick thing for 6 years and we finally got our first rooster. He is our favorite and we tried Craigslist and are getting nothing. Any ideas on how to rehome a rooster when noone is interested? We live in a subdivision and I am afraid if he keeps crowing we will most definitely...

    Bantum Chick or Rooster

No they don't but the land we have and the location has quite a bit of wiggle room, and we have great neighbors that love fresh eggs. We will play it by ear as they continue to grow.

    Bantum Chick or Rooster

I was worried about that :( I really don't want to rehome them. Thought maybe we could sneak one rooster in our subdivision but two might be pushing it.

    Bantum Chick or Rooster

Can anyone help me tell what the sex is of the red bird. We have established the black and white one is a rooster as she crows like nothing we have heard before at 6am. Really hoping the other is a girl. Not sure we can have one, let alone two roosters and they are our favorites. Any info from...
