    Interesting. Maybe they are doing it in the morning while they are waiting to be uncooped (it's an internal ramp). They don't wait that long! Obviously not good holderon-erers. I'll just have to learn to scrub it then though because I can't let them out any earlier.

    :) thanks for caring! The coop I have is like the ones you can get from pet stores /bunnings, so the whole thing is enclosed and is where they sleep at night. So yep the are locked up! There's a ramp that goes from the wire part to the inside wooden bit but i cover the whole thing in a tarp...

    The ramp goes up into a sheltered section - its just the coop that came with the first two chooks but the new girls sleep on it :/

    Hi! I'm new, and this is my first post. We got two girls (a silkie and a pekin) about 6 weeks ago and then about 4 weeks later we got two more pekins :) chickens are addictive! The two new girls have foul smelling cecal poop and havetaken to pooping on the ramp during the night. I'm ok...
