    Can you identify this breed?

Well, nothing new to report. They are holding the same as they were a few weeks ago. I think we are exactly 18 weeks now. I’m calling pullets, though I still wonder about the one with a redder face because of red and more feathers on side (but not pointed). No comb changes. I was going to wait...

Alexandra33.. Not sure if all of those are your birds, but they are gorgeous. Our Easter Egger hen was the most annoying as a chick. I vowed to not get them again. Lol She has since stolen my heart now that she’s matured some. So comical. She often jumps on my back or shoulder to get closer to...

Waffling on where to put Coop on Small Lot

So we’ve finished our coop project long ago. Just an update on what we did. We chose the retaining wall location as it gets the most sunlight, drains better and had the most space. Coop design was based on the Hinkle Hause 4x8’ out of free pallets. The only expenses for it were bolts, one...

    Can you identify this breed?

I’ve found Ee’s harder to sex. We had four chicks hatch. The silverruds blue isbar at 5 weeks screamed rooster with his huge red comb. The blue red laced wyondotte, which I find challenging as well, I thought roo from hatch and is an obvious rooster to me. He’s got long thin saddle feathers...

    Rooster BRLW?

My family thinks I’m crazy because everyone is considered rooster until proven hen. This character is now 13.5 weeks and my husband won’t let me find him a new home because he thinks it could be a hen. We hatched it from a breeders eggs so no prescreeening on this one. I have a SLW and a splash...

Okay, these two are now 13.5 weeks. Curious if you all still think they are cockerels. One has a more white head and the other more black.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Ive been suspicious of this beauty since hatch. It’s now 13 weeks old. Longer wattles than I’m used to compared to my other two Wyandotte’s of different variety. Puffier comb. Possible saddle feathers I might be seeing come in, but not sure though. I couldn’t get better quality photos today.

Easter Egger and Barred Rock Gender

That would be awesome. Was told my BR was a roo when I asked a month or two ago.

Easter Egger and Barred Rock Gender

Our EE and BR are 17 weeks now. Guesses on gender? They are getting old enough that even my BRLW hen is starting to pink up. Not the best photos since it’s pouring today. 17 weeks and one EE comb shot from 6-7 weeks and the BR at 4 weeks. If the BR is a roo he’s very slow maturing. We had a...

    Can you identify this breed?

Hard to say on breed, I just see Easter Eggers. They remind me of this photo, but it’s not my picture. One in the front has similar feather patterning but mine are darker with a black heads. How can you tell they would be roosters this early? I don’t see enough comb development yet. I have a...

    Can you identify this breed?

We bought a few eggs at a Poultry Show and hatched them. What I thought we got was two gray Americauna cross chickens that look similar to a sapphire gem. I’ve never seen a feather pattern like these. Similar to a slw, but different. At hatch, these looked dark black like barred rock chicks...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Not the best pictures, but is this splash a male? I keep comparing this comb to the one of my slw that I know is a pullet. They are completely different. Are those comparable? This chickie is 7 weeks.

Easter Egger and BRL Splash Gender

Guesses on gender? Barred rock is male. What do you think of the Easter Egger and BRL wyondotte? I touched the EE’s comb to see rows in the top down photo which may have made it look more pink in that photo. EE is two days shy of 7 weeks. BRLW is 6 weeks.
