Hello, No the birds looked completely normal. I got them when they were 4 weeks old and nothing wrong with the feet. But than 1 day you see just 1 have lame feet and after 2 hours or so it is running around perfectly. If it happened only once to 1 bird I wouldn't put to much thought into it... -

Hello, I had a first batch of 4 quails a few weeks ago, and they were about 4 weeks old. 3 of them developed (on different days) suddenly a symptom that they couldn't walk (lame feet), I thought it would die they when I saw it the first time. But 2 hours later the quail was very happy running... -

How much (day)light do they get? Quails need about 14 hours of light to start laying. -

Make sure the headspace is not to high (1 feet is more than enough). If the ceiling it to high birds can fly up when startled by something and break their neck or injure their heads. So adding a floor is a good idea, but I am not sure if they would jump up and use it as an extra floor. You could... -
