    How do I break her of that? I have read put her bottom in cold water. I have only had one broody hen in my years of chickens and I just kept taking her off the nest and collecting eggs very frequently.

    Yes the prolapse has been gone for 48hrs, she hasn’t laid since Tuesday. She has been inside in a darker room with just chick feed, because I read to try to stop laying. We know if it happens again it will be best to say good bye to her.

    @azygous After keeping her in for 3 days and she seems to be acting normal (she finally laid an egg) I’m going to put her back out in the coop and just watch her.
