    GOOSE BREEDING THREAD - for breeding, incubating, hatching and rearing.

    Yesterday was day 27 on my 8 shipped chinese goose eggs... I felt they looked odd, so I opened them up, all 8 were rotten... *sigh* I hatched 4 gosling from 6 local eggs prior to trying shipped eggs.. but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Suggestions? I have a small STILL-AIR...

    The pics are pretty fuzzy and very bright so it is difficult to see, but it looks like 2 boys and two girls, again, really tough to see. The ones with the larger/more prodominant notch/bump on their nose are males.

    After a few FAILED attempts and bad hatches, I finally got my OEG bantams to lay me eggs, which have been in the 'bator now for 4-5 days.. candled them last night and ALL 7 are fertile and doing well... *gives me hope and confidence* I have been REALLY trying to hatch out chineese goose eggs...

    They not only have a coop, but a SHELTER as well.

    My other chickens don't like to roost in the pin they like a nice quiet place AWAY from the other chickens-- typically they go in the carport between two bales of hay.. or in the hay barn. My girls in this pin won't lay eggs for a nother couple months yet.. but they will figure it out.. they...

    Yes, we have an ABUNDANCE of predators, mostly coyotes and raccoons and HAWKS. I had 3 geese that would prove to be wonderful watch dogs but they make ALOT of noise and I sold them... wouldn't you know it a few weeks later AFTER I let my chickens out (this morning actually) two coyotes decided...

    So my chickens have a very basic chicken coop meant only for sleeping and being kept safe and dry while doing so.. SO beings I live in the Pacific Norwest, we've an abundance of rain and I don't like for them to be all sad and soggy therefor the inexpensive fix of the creative thinker! I had two...
