I'm just curious - is it possible to get a pure white amerecauna when breeding Blue Amerecauna's? Let alone 2 or (possibly) 3? I only ask cause' Meyer Hatchery is telling me that yes it is, but I'm suspicious. I ordered 3 Blue Amerecauna's which are now nearly 7wks old (well, 2 of them - one...
Yeah, acknowledgeing they screwed something up would be nice, but it doesn't appear thats going to happen. So, perhaps this post can serve as a warning to anyone else ordering 'blue amerecauna's from Meyer's...
I've emailed a couple times back and forth with Meyer's now. Apparently, "Blue" amerecauna's can turn out white, though I can't find any other reference online for this. Whatever.
They started out completely yellow, which I wondered at. Their legs do have some slate on them but its not nearly as dark compared to that on the blue copper maran's.
Yeah, I can't see how they'd miracuously turn colors at this point either, I was/am mostly curious if anyone thinks they're amerecauna's or something else entirely, out of simple curiosity. I just picked out chickens I thought looked cool in pictures and which Meyer Hatchery had available at the...
Hi there, so I have 5 chickens who are ~6wks old now - 3 blue copper marans (2 hens & 1 rooster) and 2 'blue amerecauna's' which are (thus far) pure white. I've looked up and found that amerecauna's CAN be white, but I'm wondering what all you chicken experts think:
Thanks in...
So, our chickens are now around 6wks old and looking good. I'm mostly posting here because I'm curious what I have. I ordered 3 blue copper marans which I definetly have - they're looking great - and 3 blue americauna's, one of which died ~ 3 or 4 days after it arrived (so *just* outside meyer's...
Well, sad update from me. One of our chicks died - one of the yellow ones :( Just this morning, so of course we are *just* outside Meyer's 24-hr garuntee :( Hopefully the others survive OK... It didn't look quite as good as the others, and yesterday seemed really slow and this morning its dead :(
Hi there, so we have an adult Maremma Sheepdog who has lived his whole life with our goats and is GREAT with them. We have had 2-10 goats on the property with him since we first got him, and are just now decided to get back into chickens. We currently have (6) 3 day old chicks in the basement...
We have a couple lengths of premiers poultry netting, currently set up for our goats to get into the mortaflora rose patches :) When we had chickens before, they stayed in no problem, and we didn't even have to lock them up at night which we'd always had to do before else the coons/possoms would...
Yup - I checked early on Monday and there wasn't anything, but then around 10-11am they posted lots, though they only had a few of each. I got 3 blue americauna's & 3 blue copper marans (2 hens & 1 rooster) that just came today :)
