Hello all!
This is my rooster, William. I am so sorry for the horrible quality image. If you look under his eyes and on his wattles, you can see that he has scablike markings.
For clarity, I circled where the scabs are. My dominant hen has been attacking him and pecking his face but I just...
I'm not in doubt, but my dad and my agriculture science teacher are because Fuzzy and Lucky look similar. I say most definitely pullet for Lucky because she doesn't have a red comb extending to the back of her head or a trace of wattles.
Lucky has no wattles at all, and the phone camera is making her comb look red, but her comb is actually dark gray and only extends just beyond her beak. Fuzzy's comb, on the other hand, is a very bright red and extends almost to the back of his head. Also, Fuzzy's wattles are bulgy and bright...
Here is my 6 week old lavender Orpington x silkie chick. (I'm leaning towards her being a pullet)
And here is her brother Fuzzy.
Both of them are six weeks old. Fuzzy is definitely a cockerel. I'm leaning towards Lucky being a pullet. How do I know for sure if Lucky is a pullet?
My own dog. Ever since my chicks hatched she's been barking and growling at them and going up to the brooder and pawing at them inside the brooder. If I'm sitting on the floor with them in my lap, she comes over and tries to get at them 😫
Her brother has 5 toes, but she does not, so I think they are half-siblings since they share a lavender Orpington mom. Her brother might be half silkie.
Yes, my dad insists that Lucky is a cockerel but I doubt it because her crest is not even red and there is almost no sign of wattles, compared to her brother's very long and extremely bright red comb and noticeable bright red wattles. About her brother—her brother is friendly too, but he can get...
Yes she does have silkies. I just know that my chicks are part lavender Orpington. Mom was a lavender Orpington, but I don't know what dad was and she doesn't know either.
