He was a cockerel, had to give him away. We had two of them so it was hard to tell if he was a cockerel because he didn't crow or anything due to the other one always being the dominant one
They looked like this when they were chicks and the farmer said they were girls but numerous people have said that because they were whitish yellow they are both boys! Only one of them crows at the minute though, thank god. The back chick is the one that I was wondering about because it's...
Arent they more brownish red, when they were chicks I was thinking leghorn... We got two of the chicks expecting girls and looks like we have two roosters
This chicken is about 3 months old and we have another one the same age who is a rooster and is already crowing every morning. We though she was a hen but they are too similar in looks so wondered if anybody could help us in telling us the breed and gender?
Can anyone tell me if this chicken is a hen or a rooster. It's about three and a half months old and hasn't crowed whereas our other one crows every morning!
We are trying the collar so that we can keep ours because not many people keep roosters and after having him for 10 weeks I can't bare to give him to a home that may eat him!! He's so much more affectionate than our hen!
Well we only took them because they were going to be killed, I work in a school and I had watched them hatch so I wanted to save them. I thought that there would be a solution.
They're light coloured so the farmer told us they were boys and he had no use for them. Will neutering them help or is that cruel. I know very little about it but I just couldn't let them be killed. They're so lovely!
This is very important. I've got two week old chicks thought to be roosters!! I live in a built up area and my neighbours won't stand for the crowing. I really need help on how I can prevent them from crowing, I want to nip it in the bud while they're babies!!
