    Dang, I am really concerned now. The very tip appeared quite dry. I think I will call around to see if any vet in my area will treat ducks. Till then, I will keep trying to keep it clean, in the hope that he will retract it. Thank you so much for the info- what a crazy thing!!

    I have quail laying eggs either during the night or very early in the morning. The temps here in Mich. have been in the teens overnight and it appears that some of the eggs are freezing. We check for eggs at morning feed at 5:30, again during the day and at evening feed at 5 p.m. Are the ones...
