I have about 100 guinea and when they are out in the summer free-ranging sometimes, not often 1 of them makes a noise like a laughing hyena! Has anyone else ever had that happen? I have had guineas for about 5 years.
I let my guinea eggs go to the bitter end....for some I thought did not look right HATCHED! Just let nature take it's course.....the hen does not look...LOL
I live on a farm and my birthday is in the middle of wheat harvest, so no one every remembers So since the children are gone , I take a day trip and spend money on more guineas! Have great fun!
OUT OF 42 EGGS...I saved 8.....I think the humidity was ok ? But I have a still air and I think, maybe they just did not have the air circulation they needed, for the incubator is in a small ....really small bathroom with the door closed. I am going to get a fan for the next go around, Have not...
Worst hatch I have ever had! Humidity 65-70 % and temp in still air 100 to 101 ...some hatched, but very late...others just are dead in shell When I figured that out I have open eggs and helped a couple....It is so sad! They were alive right up to the end! Every time something like this happens...
GET A SHOCK COLLAR...my Heeler always wears hers....goes on first thing in the morning and the last thing done at nite. You must train with them. Set up a situation and say nothing to the dog...just shock it on a really high setting....the dog will think the chicken, cat, bunny, etc did it. And...
I have lost so many adult guineas to the idiot neighbors, that each eggs is priceless! i only have 1 incubator, so I decided when I found 9 eggs after I had started the others to just add them and pray that it worked.....AND IT DID ...... ALL BUT ONE HATCHED! When others that were in...
I live way way out the the country and nearest neighbor is 1/4
of a mile away, but is FAMILY....with the out of control children of this day's world! I have locks on all my coops! And have called the sheriff, but no proof....GRRRRRR
I decided to hold then until my incubator was empty which be in about a week. I figure the guinea hens have not started to sit on the eggs that I left behind and are still laying eggs in the nest, so if nature was doing it I have a little while.......WISH ME LUCK!
I have 3 thermometer in my incubator and all are different! And the unit I bought at Walmart is probably the same as yours. I think the humidity meter is off on my as well. I did not understand the way to test humidity with the salt etc. I use a CANDY THERMOMETER WHICH I ASSUME IS THE MOST...
