    Update! I happened to be in the right place at the right time and caught my prime suspect taking a poop. Poking around in it, I found more of what looks like this sausage material in the sample. This leads me to think that it might be digestive tract and not reproductive tract issue.

    I have found my people! I don't have my chickens yet, but I am planning the hatchery and ordering completely around when Jubilees will be available. Yes, Speckled Sussex look similar... but they don't have the absolute PRESENCE of an Orpington.

    @rosemarythyme Thank you, that makes me feel much better! I think I can add the back wall hardware cloth back in and add hinged sides and be in a better place.

    Ah, the example I based it off of had an 8" square gable louver vent on the exterior wall and not a ton more hardware cloth on the interior wall facing the run. But I bet they were banking on colder climate. I like the top hinge panel for the back wall and I could even do that for the side...
