    Sick Chicken- "Swollen" vent

    Vet suspected it was an infection caused by poorly formed eggs. Attempted 2 rounds of antibiotics and calcium injection but she never recovered .

    Hi, we are from Gateshead. We only have the 4 hens, no other animals at the minute. I'm a keen vegetable gardener and had a shady patch in the garden that was perfect for a chicken run. They seemed like a natural extension of our little kitchen garden.

    Yes, I've had a feel inside and there doesn't appear be a blockage. That was my first thought when I first saw the swelling.
