Adorable pictures! Very glad your chick is doing better! Looks like he's recovering very well. Our hen, not so much. Seems like her mobility is becoming more difficult now. The cycle of life marches on. Looking forward to more of your updates and pictures!

    indoor brooder setup question

That's good to know! Five minutes a day for a few days. The swim tub is separate from the brooding cage, that's why I was going to bridge the two, so they could access it when they wanted. Maybe I'll make a door from feeding area, then let them into swim tub for a little time each day. Thanks...

    indoor brooder setup question

Hi! I'm new to ducks. I'm getting a small indoor brooder put together. The Welsh Harlequin ducklings should arrive tomorrow, one drake, three hens. I've modified a small rabbit cage, dividing the space for sleeping in one half and feed /water in the other. I used wire, with clear vinyl, to keep...

Is there a way to help a chick with a broken leg? Happy pic update!

Another member, melbel had posted about a chair they made from legos to help a chick who didn't have the use of one leg. I hope they'll post some pics or instructions! If I ever need something like that maybe my grandson would donate his skill and some legos! Anyway, the lego chair sounds...

Is there a way to help a chick with a broken leg? Happy pic update!

I sure wish I could tell you he'd walk normally, but I don't know. I'm not sure anyone can tell you that for certainty. Perhaps a veterinarian could say with more accuracy. Either way, just knowing your doing your very best to help him I hope will bring you some peace of mind. And seeing him...

Any pictures or instructions of how to make the working lego chair? I've read about chick chairs, but so far haven't seen any instructions or photos!

Love melbels post! Pretty much says it all! If you look for the good, you'll find it! Thanks melbel! It's encouraging to know that they can learn to adapt and continue to live a happy chicken life!

Is there a way to help a chick with a broken leg? Happy pic update!

Little black chick sounds happy! We put our hen in a separate cage last night so we could watch her and really inspect her leg and foot. Again, no apparent sign of injury other than limping. So we decided to let her back with the flock after reading that simple sprains and strains would heal on...

Building a pond - step by step - mostly complete post71

Hi! I'm new to ducks and wanted to say I love your pond design! We're getting our first ducklings this week, 4 Welsh harlequins. Can you give me an idea of how much pond space per duck is recommended? I'll be using a small kiddie pool to start, but will be putting a more permanent one in where...

I hope this helps you. In the peafowl one were some diagrams of hobbies and shoes and what they are used to treat. I hope you'll keep posting your progress. I wish you success!

3 month old hen with hurting leg

My apologies, I misspelled the name. I started my search with something on the liness of chicken leg injuries illnesses and treatments. I got another link from another byc member. I'll look it up and get that to you as well. There are many sites to peruse, but I think the real issue is when...
