5 ducks killed, no signs of a struggle

2 of the ducks looked like they were asleep with their heads tucked into their wings. No visible injuries. The third had her entrails coming out her backend. 2 are missing with a few organs lying around but no bodies or feathers. I am completely perplexed. Could the 2 have died of fright? I am...

    Ancona hen or roo?

it turned out to be a hen didn't it??? Looks just like mine,,,they have huge floppy combs. Mine play with my dog, follow me around and are super curious,,,with an intense stare. They crack me up. Super flighty but when they free range that keeps them safe!!

I live in San Clemente and so far my neighbors have been tolerant even though my Buff Orpington can sing a very loud egg song everyday. My silkie turned out to be a rooster,,,oops and was taken back to Norco that day. Hope you both were able to work through the problems and keep your chicks. I...

Finish this sentence: "You know you're addicted to chickens when..."

you let them out of their run so they can have a field trip in your back yard. They tease the neighbors dog through the fence, tap at the kitchen door, eat my flowers and generally supervise all activity until they are RELUCTANTLY shooed back to their run. Love my Buffs!

    Post your FIRST EGG pics!

Princess and Buttercup both laid their first eggs at 21 weeks at exactly the same time! The whole neighborhood heard the excitement,,starting at 6 am. The process took hours of unladylike squacking,,resulting in two eggs at noon. The other one was trampled into the shaving and not suitable for...

Does anyone else have very picky eaters?

My chickens like yogurt and get really excited if I pull out the peach bits for them,,they fight over each little morsel. The favorite treat is sunflower seeds. Super healthy and they have fun foraging for every last kernel. They also love cheese,,even kraft american cheese. I am pathetic...
