I will try to get a video of her doing it next time! She does it to page me and stops when she hears me turning the corner to the shed. Thanks for the suggestion on sharing media!
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share with you all a weird sound my Silkie Hen makes. I wasn't sure what was the best way to post this was so I hope this format is acceptable. She only makes this noise in the morning when I do not put the feeder out early enough. I've never been able to find a...
They free feed on Kalmbach Feeds 16% flock maintainer. They also get BSF larvae, scrambled eggs and Kalmbach scratch. We have 10 layers and she is the only one that has any egg issues.
Hello everyone,
I have three Australorps that were hatched last summer. They have been laying for a few months now but I am concerned about one of them. Since she began laying she has consistently had issues where it seems the egg was cracked before it was laid. She is also extremely vocal when...

99% of this poop looked normal but the blood was unmistakable. Other than Cocci, what could have caused...
That's really interesting because I've always been under the impression that you want to build trust with your flock. I thought the best way to do that was heavy interaction and hand feeding.
Did your buddy ever settle down as he got older? I've got an australorp that was super sweet but is going through the teen phase now. His brother is still very docile. I'm hoping he goes back to being friendly after the hormones regulate.
