Looking for a free rooster in North Ga!!!

I am in Dahlonega, and I just had 8 chicks hatch last week. I don't know if they are hens or roosters, but if there are any roosters, I would give him to you. It would ba a while before I would know. You could also try coker livestock auction in Cleveland, GA. Check out...

2 Broody Hens and 26 eggs!

OK I waited for the hen to move the chicks into the nest box, and she ended up sleeping on the ground. The 2 hens are not getting along, and stay on opposite ends of the pen. I haven't let them out to free range yet.

2 Broody Hens and 26 eggs!

Update: 8 out of the 26 eggs hatched a few days ago, then the broodys gave up on the rest. Each mama has 4 cute babies, and they are all doing fine. I never did move them, and the hens move the chicks up and down into the nest boxes. I will try to get some pictures.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will move the nests to the ground tonight in a separate cage. I expect them to hatch in a week or so.

Very Bad Hen to Rooster Ratio

They are in a pen most of the time, I let them out on weekends when I am around to keep an eye on them. There is a HUGE hawk that circles whenever I let them out, but they stay under the bushes when he's around. It's amazing how they know just what to do. The hens seem OK so far, but I think...

Very Bad Hen to Rooster Ratio

I am new here and have been reading about having 10 hens for every rooster. I have 3 roosters and 2 hens. Haven't noticed any problems yet, and the hens have been laying since December. Only the largest rooster was crowing, and he does it a lot, until this past weekend I noticed a different...
