    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Yes, I do, but there are so many I need to litterally stand guard. Taking out 3-4 already has not even made it safe yet.

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Thanks for the reply. Actually plan 3 is the easiest as I already have been doing that. I am curious how you just adopt a feral roo. The picture by the way way taken from the net, not a photo i took, it is just the pic of what the rooster looked like. I have 13 BO's now. 7 egg producing hens...

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Unfortunately I found Bob dead today in the coop. A sad ending, I thought he would make it. I guess the trauma was too much for him.

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Thanks for the good info, very interesting. I am not sure that is practical for me, but a very interesting video. My situation is different from the norm probably because I live in a lawless crazy place ! Haha..

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Oh, wow, thanks for the information. I really appreciate it. I didnt realize they were so aggressive until now, as I am not familiar with them. Now it makes sense to me, and if this is gamefowl, then I am surrounded by them !! They have to be the nicest looking birds I see, but I guess that...

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

Hi RooDen, I am not sure but probably. We have a big cockfighting thing here on Guam. It's legal and popular, I'm not knowledgeable or any part of it, so maybe the wanderers are gamefowl. I am clueless as to what they even look like, until i looked it up and saw this guy. He is the exact...

    Wild Roosters Attacking my flock.

I live in an area with many wild roaming chickens. I have 14 Buff Orpington's, one is a senior Rooster. A big, really big nice looking BO rooster. But today he lost his second near death battle with invading roosters. I let the flock free range during the day around my compost piles, but...

    Snakes Kill Chickens!

I have a ton of snakes, and many deaths. The only way to do it is to go through the trouble to make the coop completely snake proof. 1/2 inch hardware cloth everywhere. Fortunately my snakes are nocturnal so I can let them free range during the day, but then they get attacked by other chickens.

Broody Hen hatched many chicks !

Well last tight was interesting, I had the chicks with mom and the whole flock together in coop with perch. That does not work. The reason was not from any sort of aggression, just the chaos of everyone walking around. So the water bowl tipped over, metal feeder upside down. omg, ya im not...

Broody Hen hatched many chicks !

Hello everyone that has helped me. Now I have another question that I really need help on. So, it turns out the hatch was very successful and I have 6 healthy chicks with the mom, its really neat to see this. I always incubated and to see this is really nice. All the chicks underneath the mom...

Broody Hen hatched many chicks !

Well, thanks, but I not sure about that. I need to see what happens when i feed them, i was thinking about that. If the other chickens will tear into my chick food set up.

Broody Hen hatched many chicks !

Ok, so I blocked the ckicks in so they dont all out. But my other hens still go in and out. I hope this is ok. The reason I am ok so far is the flock dynamics of this flock is not like I have seen before. It appears the entire flock is protecting this hen and chicks. When I walk close to...

Broody Hen hatched many chicks !

Yes thank you. My next question was answered. I was wondering if the hen should / will leave the nest. It is day 1 post hatch and she is still sitting there, I'm not sure how many more hatchlings I will have so I will wait and see. As far as the second deck issue, I decided to staple a some...
