    Homemade water heater

    Hi again, forgot to mention in first reply. To turn heater on and off I'm using a "Thermocube". Its a very simple to use thermostat that turns on at 35 and off at 40 degrees (different temp ranges available). Sold at Amazon.com etc for about $12.

    House Scraps???

    In our kitchen the big decision is who gets which scraps. The black lab still has first right of refusal, then the chickens, then the compost pile. But since the dog and and chickens have access to the compost pile everything is pretty well picked through.

    Coop Flooring Question! Help!

    I covered my plywood floor with concrete backerboard. It comes in 3'x5' sheets and is most often used under tile. I then chalk the seams and painted. It will not rot and protects the plywood. Working good so far.
