I just picked up 3 lovely ladies who are about 1 year old. I am adding them to my flock of 9 ladies who are around 12 weeks old. The 12-week birds were vaccinated by the hatchery, but the three I just picked up have had no vaccinations. So I am thinking it may be a good idea to vaccinate them...
I have the missus my expected budget. But I missed a bunch of stuff, and I overbuilt it a bit, so as I flew past the budget tensions got a bit high. But its done now and she likes it, so back to normal. I'm sure you guys will get through it too.
Five or six weeks ago I received my chickens from My Pet Chicken. 8 barred rocks, 4 New Hampshire Reds, all female. All 12 are doing well and doing expected chicken things, eating drinking, pooping, and freaking out anytime I change their local environment.

On my windows th ere is a small removable pieced of plastic on the inside track. Behind it is the spring assembly. If you remove those you should be good to go.
Is it normal for the wing feathers of chicks of the same breed to grow at significantly different rates? I have a couple with a large set of wing feathers. a couple with almost none, and all the rest are smack dab in the middle between them. Everyone seems healthy and happy, so I'm not worried...
