Thanks! That was my plan, to pull him again for a few more months if he’s still being a jerk to let him mature more. We’re planning to move North to more land this year (in FL right now) so if he does end up a total jerk to my girls once he’s finished growing, I’m hoping to create a separate...
Hi everyone! I have a 7 month old cockerel, 5 pullets, and 2 hens. Things were going great with the cockerel and he was still a bit afraid of the hens until recently. The hens got bumble foot and had bandages on their feet, and within one day of the bandaging I caught my cockerel rather...
The Sebrights and Easter Egger are all about 14 weeks now. The other two you can see in the picture are 20 weeks and started laying a few weeks ago so I’m hoping to get teeny tiny Sebright eggs soon!
Will report back with some pics later today! The two of them have formed a clique with a huge Easter Egger pullet that is the same age as them, and it is the funniest thing. She follows them around and protects them and brings them treats, it’s almost like she thinks they’re her babies 🤣 if I...
They’re super adorable! Absolutely nutty though, crazy skittish, and they make a sound like a honking goose 🤣 they’ve been an adventure that’s for sure, lots of fun!
Hey everyone! I just brought home another batch of assorted bantams from Tractor Supply because I have no self control 🤦🏼♀️🤣 I’m pretty sure the two yellow guys are silkies but I have no clue on the other four. The four are teeny tiny, smallest chicks I’ve ever seen. Anyone know what they may be?
popping back in with an update...Two Cochin bantams, one Mille fleur d’uccle, and one Easter Egger appears to be holding true! I am beginning to think the black Cochin is also a cockerel though, which is a shame. Definitely a cockerel...right?
Thank you, she was due for another trim and washing in this photo. From the way her poop gets stuck even on trimmed feathers, I almost wonder if she isn’t pushing the poop far enough away from her body when she goes?
Thank you all! A few of these chicks may be moving on to a friend’s home across the street in a week or so but I will be sure to update you all on how they turn out!
Looking for some help with my silkie who has had a nasty butt for months. She’s happy, otherwise healthy, eats well, and is active. She rarely has loose stools (typically when she does it’s from too much cucumber or the like) but constantly gets poop build up on her butt feathers, even when off...
