Who here owns Muscovy ducks? I’ve been raising Muscovys for 3-4 years now and have owned anywhere from 25-35 at a time. We’ve had to move twice in the past year and our flock has changed a lot. The house we initially lived at had what I felt like was a medium/large fenced in back yard out in the...
Good to hear, anymore updates? For some reason I don't get notifications sent directly to me anymore and unfortunately I don't check up here that often.
Discharge, especially white, is a good indicator of bacterial infection. I almost wouldn't suspect a respiratory infection though since both eyes aren't affected but it could explain why the duck is secluding himself or it could just be from the fact that it's lost vision of that one eye and is...
It was a chlorine pool, it was very hard to keep them out of it even when they had they're own fresh water pool that was cleaned regularly. Although the pool has now been taken down, so no worries.
I would not leave a swimming area out for them or you will find yourself cleaning up behind them multiple times a day. They will make a big enough mess out of their drinking water. I think a week old is a perfect time to introduce them to swimming, it will come natural to them, very fun to...
Name: I like to call her "mama" and "brownie"
Age: 10 months
Breed: chocolate muscovy
Gender: female
What makes your duck special to you: she's more of a companion than a duck! And she has a crazy addiction to meal worms, you shake the bag and she will chase you down across the yard for them and...
After I brought her back from the yard and put her down on the porch she was waggung that tail like a dog lol! Theyr doing well. I have them in a large storage container right outside our covered porch door and mama spreads her wings and tail out any time someone comes out of the door to protect...
Yes, we don't live too close to the coast We're in the Greenville area. I think the worst of the wind is over but we might get some flooding. I actually just went and did a rescue mission for my other sweet brown girl(muscovy)! I think she got tired of the rain but she wouldn't get to shelter...
I'm really on the fense about altering the diet. I've used the same feed for chicks and ducklings in the past and never ran into this problem. The two muscovys that have the angel wing are brother and sister. On the female her left wing is affected and on the male both wings are affected.
