I have removed my first bumblefoot. Her toe is infected. I squeezed on it for awhile and nothing else came out other than a little blood and puss. I filled the hole with antibiotic ointment, covered it with gauze and wrapped with some vet wrap. Is there anything else I need to do? The first pics...
‘Buddy’ the budgie is doing great. She’s eating like a champ now. It took her 3 full days but she finally felt comfortable enough to eat. She’s still a little nervous but has started chattering throughout the day. I think she’ll be fine :)
I have 2 buffs that have a pretty severe case of scaly leg mites. One of the buffs also has dark, almost purple, comb and wattles. Otherwise she seems healthy. What is the fastest or best way to treat the mites? Thanks!
Thank you. I have 3 sides covered with the front open. I'm on day 3 and she still isn't eating. I'm going to try moving her food and water cups up to the top and turn the cage so they are at the back instead of the front. She seems more comfortable at the back of the cage. I hung a millet spray...
We picked up our new budgie today. It’s been in its new “home” for a few hours now and seems scared to death! It hasn’t eaten or drank at all and has barely moved. Just jumped up onto a perch. How long can it go without food/water?
No she isn’t laying and hasn’t for awhile. I did check and don’t feel an egg. I used permethrin garden and poultry dust. I have used this before. She hasn’t been wormed in about a year and a half. Yes her crop is empty in the morning. She’s a little perkier today but still not feeling well. I’ve...
Yes he is starting with 1. He really wants to work with it and maybe try to teach it a few words/phrases. He bought a large cage so he can add another in the future if he decides to. Thank you for your advice.
I have a 6 year old Easter Egger with a cross beak. I force fed her for a few years and she eventually learned to eat wet mash on her own. The last few days she has not been eating. She is already underweight because she can only eat 2 times a day when I’m home to feed her. I decided to check...
My 12 year old son has been begging for a parakeet for about a year. He has done tons of research and has saved his own money for the cage, toys, feed, etc. I would like to buy the bird for him. Although he has his heart set on a parakeet, I thought I would inquire with more knowledgable people...
