So I have been raising coturnix quail for about a year now. Having a lot of fun, thinking about switching and trying some Bobwhites. Does anyone a a link to a forum or website with everything you need to know about raising Bobwhites. From incubation to pen ideas?
Has anyone ever fed their chickens sesame seeds. I scored a 50lb bag for free from work. The chickens have been eating them and now my eggs are huge, cant even close the cartons.
I have heard of people supplementing Ground up Cat food or egg? Is this a good way to do it? If so, how much? I have chickens as well, and way too many eggs! I could easily afford to feed my quail a dozen chicken eggs per week.

Here is one of my 2 week old Jumbo Cortunix. Ordered these eggs off of Ebay, hatched out pretty good! 3 weeks old tomorrow. Also just put 68 more eggs in the incubator! Going to be overloaded here soon.
Has anybody ever added a Protein Supplement to their feed?

It is only 20% protein. The other Farm store in town has some stuff that is 22% protein, but it is a little...
I am new to Cortunix as well. I put a light on mine for 14-15 hours a day. I noticed a took a good week or so to get them back into laying mode, I think it takes a while for their bodies to adjust. I filled my incubator and shut the light off a week ago, and they are still cranking the eggs out.
So I am new to Quail, I got 12 coturnix and 23 eggs in my incubator that will hopefully hatch this week. I am trying to figure out what everybody does for water for their quail in the winter.
I currently use a heated dog water dish for my chickens. I just dump it out and refill everyday. The...
