    Favorite Bantams?

I love my Sultan bantams and my Sebrights ...both on opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to personalities.

Thought I'd share a short vid of my chickens

I was out in the coop and made a short vid of some of my chickens. They all have their own personalities...and I caught a few of those personalities on video. In the vid you will see my Sultan bantams, Silver Sebrights and Porcelain D'uccles....along with a couple "stupid pet tricks" . enjoy!

3 first eggs in one day?

Ok...it's been a while now. I've been getting 4-6 eggs a day from these little hens. Quite amazing considering they are not supposed to be good layers. Now to find out which eggs are coming from which type of chicken. I get small white eggs, small tan eggs close to the same size as the white...

    Sebrights crowing at 6 weeks!

My Sebright roo's finally have a normal sounding crow...no more squeaky voices, lol. One of my Sultan bantams crowed for the first time yesterday....it wasn't the normal "cock-a-doodle-do"....it was more like "doodle-do". He skipped right over the squeaky stage

Help me decide: Ideal or Privett?

Closeness doesn't really matter unless you are going to pick them up. I received mine the day after they hatched....and Ideal is halfway across the states from me.

What kind brooder bedding do I need??

Pine shavings are fine....Don't use Cedar shavings! Just don't use the pine shaving right away...the chicks have to learn what they are supposed to eat first and pine shavings will confuse them.

Help me decide: Ideal or Privett?

It's getting pretty late in the season for chicks...do either have any available? I had good luck with Ideal...straight runs gave me 2 roos and 3 hens per breed I ordered. All arrived safely and are still kicking.

Hmmm....hawks never come down when you are outside to see them. how about a mannequin or "scarecrow" set near the coop/run.

Is this normal? need help fast

Sorry, I had no idea it was that old....it should be fine by itself, so no momma or brooder is necessary. I'd try to find it a good home Another thought: This doesn't happen to be one of the kids favorites, does it? It could be that since it may be handled more frequently than the rest, the...
