Is It Normal for Ancona Hens to Crow?

We have a 6 month old Ancona hen named Madam Peep that we are still trying to figure out if she is a roo or a hen. She crows excessively... for the past three or four days I have heard her crowing on average for about five minutes around the same time every morning, 8-10. I'm just wondering if...

Do you know if it's common for Ancona hens to crow? I know that hens are capable of producing a crow I just feel that she does it excessively.

The Artist Formerly Known As Madam Peep... HELP!

He/she is about 6 months old. We got all of our younger chicks in mid-February and according to the lady, they were all between 3 weeks and a month old.

My Young Pullets STILL Haven't Laid Any Eggs

Thanks for the help! Our older Mottled Houdan was actually laying for a couple weeks in a sawdust bucket in the shed and we finally found it and unfortunately most of the eggs had spoiled :/ I will definitely go outside after it stops raining and check out every nook and cranny of the yard.

The Artist Formerly Known As Madam Peep... HELP!

We're worried that our Ancona may be a rooster... she's the one nearest the nesting box furthest left in this picture. Multiple times we have heard her crowing excessively in the morning hours and she's extremely assertive (slightly aggressive) with our corgis. Whenever our female corgi goes...

    Mottled Houdan Hens

We bought our Mottled Houdans as a pair (two females) in February. One, a very robust sassy hen, we named Miss Otis after the jazz song written by Cole Porter. The other we named Adele, after Adele :) For a while in the late winter months and early, colder Spring months we got almost no eggs but...

My Young Pullets STILL Haven't Laid Any Eggs

I read one of the "sticky" posts concerning pullets not laying, but it only really addressed Fall/Winter issues. We bought our four young pullets (1 Ameraucana...hope I didn't butcher that name... 1 Black Australorp, 1 Red Sex Link, and 1 Ancona...that we suspect to be a rooster currently) in...
