    Don’t be! That’s the entire reason I asked because the comb/wattles on the one look exactly like my 3 other roos, though back around 7 weeks. Seems so odd to have two pullets with such different coloring on their comb but I guess the other is just developing a little later 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Almost 12 weeks now and I was thoroughly convinced they were both pullets until the last few days. Both have copper chest feathers and truly they look identical except that one now has a much more red and pronounced comb and has wattles showing up. Not close enough to laying time for that change...

    Wanted to post an update here :) Both Barnevelders are definitely Roos. The silver cuckoo maran was as well and the golden a pullet (and they love each other so much btw). Looks like I will have a couple Barnevelder Roos to rehome 😭 Thanks everyone!

    My thoughts exactly. We have 11 altogether (plus 3 guineas) but 3 Roos out of 11 is 2 too many 😔 And all 11 were sold as day old pullets, though we understood the risk and likelihood of getting 1 roo. Still stinks. Fingers crossed we’re wrong about the Barnevelders 😂 Will update!

    Thank you! Exactly what I wanted to hear 🤣 Our cuckoo maran the same age has the same red under its yellow comb so I was worried 3 were Roos. Not enough hens to make more than one roo work!
