Please do all you can to protect your Hens. They become like family. I also added motion sensor cameras that send me an alert and security lights. Bobcats and raccoons are notorious for visiting at night as you can see from the pictures.
I've had bobcats and raccoons visit but they cant get in cuz thanks to the mice in the early days of my new coop I made sure to protect my hens with security cameras, Solar power motion sensor lights and hardware cloth around the perimeter of the run and coop.
On cold days my hens sit in their coop and never come out. I was so worries sick wondering what had happened but on warm days thry are happy and chirpy.
I did call an exterminator and then the trapper, no luck after months of trying to catch her. She acts very sweet when I see her walk our fence line and I always see her near the cameras. But for some reason she avoids the coop area. And walks on the opposite side of the house
I dont trust them...
Ofcourse I've tried all of that. The next step is to poison. Which was recommended by the wild life specialist that came recommended by animal control. I'm more worried about keeping my Hens safe from the raccoon. Hence my question
I have had a racoon living in my attic for the past 8 months along with her baby that is also her size now. I have tried every humane way to get rid of her but she wont budge.
Hence I have had to cover the run and coops with another bigger run. But how do you keep a racoon away from chickens...
I'm sorry if this has been answered, I love my girls like they are my children. so please can you shoe a picture of the door pls. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened. Just know they are in good hands with their creator
