    Thank you all for your encouragement and advice A third chick has now pipped, so I am waiting for it to zip. This is so exciting. If I only get 3 chicks from 17 eggs it is kinda disappointing, but it is my first time and it is a homeade incubator so I guess I cannot expect too much

    Sorry to leave you hanging. I had one zip : and one has pipped a little further, but is still working. I noticed another that pipped, but now there is no movement I think it must be gone. I am a little concerned about the health of the chick that hatched though it seems to be poorly fluffed...

    when I awoke this morning I had pipping on 2 eggs. Every so often I hear chirping from 1 of the 2 eggs, but no progress has been made. How long does it take?

    I have a little 12 volt computer fan moving the air around. I candled them again on day 14, but I found it was more difficult to tell what was going on. I definitely saw some movement though. I increased the humidity on day 18 and stopped turning them. Should I candle them now? Would that kill...

    I made an incubator and when I candled the eggs on day 8 I saw life. It is now day 22 and nothing has hatched. Should I consider them dead? I guess I need to try again. I am so disappointed after waiting 3 weeks

    Celebrate my first 4 eggs!

    Thank you for sharing in my excitement. You are right it is like Christmas/Easter. I cannot wait to see what they have for me tomorrow. Ok, I know they will be eggs but you get what I mean.
