Hi,I have a novel trick to control beetles! My girls love olive oil,so I fill a container with a medium amount of the oil, leave it in the sun and walk around my yard with a stick to knock the beetles into the oil..quick death, treats for the girls and no pesticide! I collect thousands and the...
I have been giving my girls olive oil in water for quite some time, and I came up with a novel idea for killing Japanese beetles as well. I get a plastic container half olive oil half water and use a stick to knock the Japanese beetles off my plants, they fall directly into the olive oil and the...
I love this article! I love the way you write, I can completely empathize with you. My girls are all my babies and I cuddle them to the point of spoiling them rotten. Please keep writing you have a gift!
I use something loosely based on the deep litter method, I clean their poop everyday and put it in a separate bag, I then put clean shavings and diatomaceous earth in its place.
I give them crusts from pizza, but not toppings, too salty,my girls get veggie leftovers and spaghetti,oatmeal- I soak the crust in olive oil so it's softer for them.. sorry, wife wins this one🐔🐓
Hi! I give them warm oatmeal on cold days.. steak scraps make them insane with joy,I give them small amounts of cheese and they love it when I hold an apple for them to peck at..I put everything in a plastic bag that used to contain treats,so they know what's coming..if I steam veggies, they get...
Thanks..I can't see them coming out anytime soon as they are severely traumatized, displaying behaviors I've never seen..one girl is hiding in the corner!! I'm going to get a bunch of rocks to put on my steps as someone suggested; as of now, they show absolutely no desire to leave their Coop...
He is very aggressive! He waits until I'm very close to him to fly away he has demonstrated aggressive behavior towards the girls before and I know it's the same hawk, I just don't know how to get rid of him
there must be something wrong with the hawk that I have in my yard, because he is always on the ground, I caught him on the ground peering into the shed where the girls are, he also was standing a few feet away on the ground at another time looking at the coop! I have lots and lots of mealworms...
Thank you so much, They already get more loving and more treats than any chicken I know haha but I plan to spoil them extra and make sure they know that they're loved and protected
I live in maine,we can't shoot hawks, they're protected,I always supervise them, this one time I wasn't able to save her..plastic isn't an option for me.. I'll just have to reschedule their time Free ranging without denying them their joy..than you very much!
