I am having the same problem with our Wyndotte. We have 3 hens, a seabright bantam, an orpington and a silver wyndotte. We had the bantam first, we have had her 5 years. We got the other 2 girls last year. We introduce them last year and they have gotten along great for the last year. But...
I know. We wanted to get another bantam like her but we didn't want any roosters. And since you can only get straight run bantams, we did this instead. It would have killed me to have raised the chick and then find out it was a rooster and we would have to give it away. They are so fun.
I got a Silver Wydonette & a Buff Orpington yesterday at the feed store. And all I can say is that they are the cutest things in the world. I have them in the house for now in a box with a warming light. It is a see through box and my husband and I spent the whole night just watching them run...
We got an Buff Orpington chick today. We put down pine shavings and paper towels. She has a heat lamp, water dish and feeder dish with the right food. She seems to sleep alot. She has been drinking water but then she goes back to sleep. Everytime I check on her she wakes up but then goes...
