    Thank you for information. Seems I need to make a quick decision between the baby chick and the other eggs, which may not have live chicks. As was recommended Texas KiKi, should candle the 8 other eggs. The baby chick seemed strong an hour ago.

    No ... it is so small and mother hen is so protective. Would like her to care for it. So I may have to remove all the other eggs for her to take care of the one little survivor??? Have never raised one chick on its own Have raised several and they take care of each other providing warmth, etc...
