Hello expert chicken masters,
My good friend sent me these pics this am.
A rock hard calcium like egg was found stuck to the rear of her chicken. She soaked her awhile and removed it from her feathers. She has passed it on her own but owner is wondering what to do now if anything.
What is...
There was a broken egg today yes and this nest box might have been abit messy for a few days but I thought I just changed this box out a week or 2 ago. There are tiny flies hopping out of the aspen. Great just great I don't want flystrike!
Thanks for the great info!
I saw the bubbles and already did the flush and terraM treatment. Will continue. I don't have any iodine I will go pick some up. assume I should dilute it. I see some people do iodine and some don't.
No wheezing/ sneezing from any of them they seem pretty happy...
Started about 2 weeks ago with just 1 bump over the eye in the golden
The golden has been pecked before and had to separate her for similar eye pecking . . .
Just want to make it's not something else before I separate . . .
Thank you! Yep that's exactly what we did. 2 wire dog crates in the enclosed run.
Glad we had time to sit and observe last night. They are all out now free ranging but when it's time to go back inside they will both be separated again. One for healing and one in a time out. 🤣
Glad we have the...
Thank you!
We did the saline plus neosporin, already better from 8 hours separation. Eye is fully open again and swelling down. Picking up the other ointment in the am and will continue.
Observed the flock at roosting time. White Brahma seems to be the culprit she was stalking our lav orps...
So this happened overnight and this am. She was fine last night.
She was separated right away and is eating and drinking fine.
Thought about spraying vetericin on it but don't want it to go in her eye.
What else can I do? Other eye is fine.
I agree.
Hubbie just had a major surgery so I'm beyond exhausted from stress and a week of constant after care, and literally can't put this away today.
Probably fine to eat or process the next day but just don't care RN. 😮💨
A treat for the Feathered friends.
Only had chickens 1.75 years.
Seen lotsa posts online people tossing these in their runs to pick clean.
Tell me this is ok, they won't develop some crop problem I won't know how to fix or other issues.
Yes they have grit avail. 25 chickens.
