Are these peck marks to the face?

Thanks for the great info! I saw the bubbles and already did the flush and terraM treatment. Will continue. I don't have any iodine I will go pick some up. assume I should dilute it. I see some people do iodine and some don't. No wheezing/ sneezing from any of them they seem pretty happy...

    Pecked eye treatment

Thank you! Yep that's exactly what we did. 2 wire dog crates in the enclosed run. Glad we had time to sit and observe last night. They are all out now free ranging but when it's time to go back inside they will both be separated again. One for healing and one in a time out. 🤣 Glad we have the...

    Pecked eye treatment

Thank you! We did the saline plus neosporin, already better from 8 hours separation. Eye is fully open again and swelling down. Picking up the other ointment in the am and will continue. Observed the flock at roosting time. White Brahma seems to be the culprit she was stalking our lav orps...

    Pecked eye treatment

So this happened overnight and this am. She was fine last night. She was separated right away and is eating and drinking fine. Thought about spraying vetericin on it but don't want it to go in her eye. What else can I do? Other eye is fine.

Im chicken to feed them the carcass!

I agree. Hubbie just had a major surgery so I'm beyond exhausted from stress and a week of constant after care, and literally can't put this away today. Probably fine to eat or process the next day but just don't care RN. 😮‍💨 A treat for the Feathered friends.

Im chicken to feed them the carcass!

Only had chickens 1.75 years. Seen lotsa posts online people tossing these in their runs to pick clean. Tell me this is ok, they won't develop some crop problem I won't know how to fix or other issues. Yes they have grit avail. 25 chickens.

Poop on just marans eggs each day

Coop and path to nest always clean. She always has clean feet so we think she just can't control it. Thanks for chiming in!

Poop on just marans eggs each day

I've noticed that my Marans eggs always have a good chunk of dried poop on them. 18 mo old. Is that a worming issue? I havent seen worms in any poop anywhere. Never seems to happen with the other breeds and it's each lay. Why? Thank for your thoughts!

Mass drying coffee grounds -too cool now?

Yes sand is an option, just don't know which sand is ok. I thought playground sand was a no no. Can't recall why. I've read that the coffee grounds can mold when wet so now I'm not sure this is best option. I don't want mold sitting on my trays and don't always scoop daily.

Mass drying coffee grounds -too cool now?

So last winter I wanted to try coffee grounds badly on my poop trays, the PDZ was so dusty it made me cough and eyes burn after. So bad I ended up ditching it and scoping poop right off the wood trays. Summer was so busy now it’s 50s for a high the next week or 2. If I scamper out to the coffee...
