Yep...the original 5 heads I gave them were a different variety.. just too bitter for us to eat, and had no milky stuff. The chickens loved it though 😊
Silly me, I didn't even think to take a pic of it. It's long gone now, but I have another that I haven't cut down yet because I want to harvest the seeds, so maybe it will have the same thing happening. If I get a pic I'll post it... If anything maybe this will help others who might experience...
Ah, sadly I've already thrown it away. It wilted very quickly too. Oh well, maybe next time (though I don't plan to let my veggies bolt again, heh.)
Thanks!
I do acrylic pouring. I don't have to be a great artist to do it (which I am not) because I just put the paint into the cup in different ways and pour it using different techniques and I let the paint do the rest! It's always a surprise. No way of knowing what it will turn out like in the end. I...
Unfortunately the others tend to pick on her once in a while. She is super vocal always "beaking" about something and I have seen her go at them on occasion but mostly it's one of the others after her. It's awful, they pin her down and peck at her head. I hear her scream at them every once in a...

Oh I thought ameraucana was also known as Easter egger. Hehe so much conflicting info on the internet (I read in some article on a different website that they were the same thing) *forehead slap
I inherited some chickens when I bought my place. I don't know much about them, including their age or breeds. I think I know what 2 are, they are Easter eggers.. I think at least one is Auraucana.
"Red" is the little red one that I think is Auraucana, she lays small blue eggs.
"Gumbo" is the...
Perhaps. Hopefully not for a while. I was just out there trying to get pics for my other post and I noticed a different one is limping now. Not badly, and the same thing happened with yet a different one a while back but there was nothing wrong with her foot, and it seemed to heal up in its own...
She seems super robust and healthy. I see zero signs of anything wrong with her (of course I'm still learning). Far as I can tell her poops are good, she has a voracious appetite, drinks plenty of water, bosses the other ladies around and she lays almost every day even though the others seem to...
