    Faverolles Thread!

    I have Faverolles, they are hands down my favorite here. Added a little bit of fresh blood from out of province last year, so I can run two pens now.

    Dropping in to say hi. Picking up a pair of exhibition bred Whites this week, and looking to focus on breeding to standard. Love the pictures everyone is sharing of the different colours, those Dark Browns are really striking.

    I tested the compost I’ll be top dressing all my beds with and cleared the weeds from around the baby fruit trees. Hail and a surprise T-storm stopped anything else.

    Looking for Critique on Silkie Rooster

    Looking to eventually get into showing my Silkies. This is the rooster I’m hoping to move forward with. Love some critiques of him. It’s winter here in Canada so he’s not in the best feather condition at the moment.

    I have some young BB hens with one of my heritage bronze turkey boys. I'll be setting eggs this weekend, and the few I cracked earlier looked fertile. So we'll see.

    HOW TO FATTEN UP ADULT TURKEYS

    Game bird feed, and I mix mine with cracked corn, rolled barely and BOSS. Started doing that and they fill out nicely. But it takes time to bring birds back after a period of mismanagement.
