    Missing Feathers, Not Molting

I have a chick who is about 1.5 years old. I got her late may from a place that had a roo. He was pretty rough on her. We have no rooster. She has not grown any feathers back. I notice she picks at herself a bit. I have checked and see no signs of mits. No white clumps or black spots...

    I need a Chicken whisperer!

So.... we had two happy hens that were best buds. A raccoon (I think) ate parts of one. she died. Alberta, the survivor, has PTSD and is acting very strange. She stopped roosting in her tractor. I believe the raccoon killed the one he while she was roosting while Alberta was laying. I...

    Hello all!

We just got our two girls on Saturday. They love their new life. They lived on a farm and now get a nice backyard. They really love my garden. Gotta keep an eye on them. Tons of fun and a little stink.

    Roost in coop.

I have an outside roost and a roost in the coop. They have both layed eggs in their nest. However, at night they choose to roost outside rather than inside. It has been getting down to the upper 40's. Should I look at repositioning inside roost or just let them be chickens?

    what is your dream job?

I would like to be independantly wealthy, own a 300 acre hobby farm/garden/with a cool dirtbike track. I would restore old tractors and not sell them. Bunch of animals, dirtbikes, tractors, my wife and kids.

    Hello all!

My flock will consist of two chickens! Tractor is 4x8. I have big dogs that would eat a racoon. Can you eat laying hens in the falls. Not sure if I will be able to winter them?

    Hello all!

Just putting finishing touches on my first tractor. I did a good job on the wood structure but the fence looks terrible. Functional though. I had chicks as a kid and 20 something years latter I get to have them again. I live in the city and have a little garden as well. Looking forward to...
