Thank you for posting those very helpful photos! I came across this thread fro a google search for molting. My hens all seem to be molting as well--particularly on the lower back above the ail. Definitely worsened by pecking from the other hens (we have no roosters). I wonder if I should apply...

Losing feathers on the back? Could they (Ameracaunas) be roosters who are pulling out the feathers of the hens when they mate? That would explain no eggs. lol
No, we have no roosters. Its mostly on the back near the tail. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic. Anyone...
Thanks for the reply! We got the Ameracaunas at a store--that prob. got them from a hatchery. So, you are right about them most likely being mixed breed. I'll be treating them for parasites this week (just in case).

Hi Everybody! We bought 2 Americauna chicks the 1st week of June (along with 10 other chicks of differing breeds). All our pullets have started laying loads of eggs, but not a single blue egg! We now have 13 hens and get between 7-9 eggs per day! I do wonder if the non-Americauna pullets are...
