still no change, no movement.... i think they are gonners..... HOWEVER.. good news... I bought an incubator in Ebay today! should be here in a few days.
moving, happy, kicking, till tonight... temp has been the same the entire time... in my homemade box.. i added more water this morning to help the humidity.. but nonights red veins look dead... did i lose them? They arent moving, but look to be more full in the egg now, but the red veins are all...
Im thinking if I were a chicken, i would want some higher roosts.. mainly so you can sit above everyone else and jump on them when they least expect it. HAHAHA... i have EVERY hole covered in my coop.. and STILL every morning... 2 white hens escape.. No clue how they do it!
Yesterday when we were in the coop, we heard a rattler out back of the coop.. all of a sudden here came the chickens over to the back and went CRAZY, apparently they chased it away cause they were chasing something... im hoping it was that snake...
BHAHHAA, i was going to say Nugget!.... LOLA.. i love lola, the kids keep naming the babies.. its funny, they have them wrote on paper describing which chick is which LOL
Mine in the coop are eating whatever mama eats.. they loved the hen scratch more than the chick feed... and they are loving the bugs.. they are only a day old..
And ONE MORE little black one this morning... This one is from the mama herself.. another little black one.. CUTE!!! Still one more white egg, do you think it might still hatch???
My coop is a retired sheep shed.. i opened up some panels, stuck up some chicken wire, covered some holes with chicken wire.. built an outside pin around the chute outside.. Now i have opened up another section of the shed (4 sections in it.. 3 are open now) I was planning to leave the last...
by the way, i ended up just fencing Nimrod off in the coop where she was quite happy... the others were NOT happy cause apparently that nest is THE place to lay... lol..
