    I just got these birds from a friend. She said they are Marans, but I have been unable to identify the hen's coloring... she looks part wheaten and part something else! The rooster is definitely a blue wheaten. Here are some pics: Any thoughts? Comments?

    My EE has green ears... can you see her ears? That determines the color of her eggs.

    I free-range my chickens and do not provide grit. I assume they will find it themselves as they forage :)
