What Breeds Are My 6 Week Old Chickens? (Lots Of Pics)

Wow, you're amazing. I found a home for the meat birds. So no heart break there. The gold Partridge Dutch Bantam will live with my polish silkies (I hope) and the other two will jump in with my isa brown's. Now I have to find 4 or 5 more isa's to replace the older girls. Thank you very much.

What Breeds Are My 6 Week Old Chickens? (Lots Of Pics)

Thank you. Any ideas on the little guy hiding in the first and third picture? I'm going to have to give away of the meat birds. I have two coops and runs now and don't want a third. I'm sad because the big white one is so friendly, she is like a puppy and comes over when I check on them. Thanks...

What Breeds Are My 6 Week Old Chickens? (Lots Of Pics)

Thanks for the pictures. I never thought I'd like looking at chicken pictures but I do. Sorry but I'd like to post some pictures of my newest group of ladies, but there are so many knowledge people here. I let my daughter pick out 4 more girls to add to my flock of 15. I wanted all isa's because...

RANT: Tractor Supply won't sell less than six chicks!!!

There is no minimum amount in Massachusetts, it's a big lie. I called the corporate office and asked them to show me the law. They called the store and then told me there was no law. They did say I had to buy 4 so I went to the store and person there said I could buy any number I want after I...

Two of my layers stoped laying.

I have two silkies/polish hen's and hat stopped laying for three days now. I was getting 4 or 5 eggs every 3 days. They also don't come out of the nesting box as much as they use to. Every day they get to free range for 2 hours or more and they can run around in their run all day. I think they...

    Isa brown/silkie

Thanks for the replys. We picked them up yesterday and introduce them to the other girls. We brought them in last night because it was cold outside. The older girls did chase them around this morning so we have them separated.

    Isa brown/silkie

Thanks for the information. I don't know if they are hens yet, but won't be able to keep Roo's. The run is 40'*25' so room is not a problem but I have no way to separate them at night. The coop is an A-frame type I found online and double it. This winter I plan on using and old hoop house for a...

    Isa brown/silkie

Thanks for the info. I don't want to start a chicken war, I'm only thinking about doing this to help my daughter's friend out. I think they said that the silkies were attacking the polish chickens. Thanks for the help.

    Isa brown/silkie

We have 6 isa browns that are happy and healthy. My daughter's friend want to give up her 2 silkie chickens. I think she said they are 12 weeks old. Does anybody know if these two breeds get along. Our ladies are about 8 months old. We have plenty of coop and run and plan Joe n getting 4-6...

    want to get chickens

I built this one for 200$, it was very easy but would not built it like this again. After it was built i found out that it was only good for 4 chick's and double it. You don't need that much roosting space, you need the space for feeding and exercise. I used hardware cloth buried 8 in into the...

Let’s talk oyster shells/ egg shells for first time layers

One of my girls laid her first egg and wasn't expecting that for 3 more weeks. Should I give them all layer food or wait for the others. Also should I run out to buy some today or can it wait until tomorrow?
