I got the baytril from the vet just because it was quicker and easier. I'm gonna order it online within the next couple days so I don't have to pay as much. But the vet wouldn't give more eye drops without seeing a bird to prescribe it to, so I don't know what I'm gonna do about that since I...
So on Friday, the roster went to the vet. He gave me eye drops and baytril, which has helped out the rooster a lot. He's moving around, his tail is up, he's eating, and best of all, crowing! But, some of the hens are starting to get sick, so I'm also giving them the medication. I brought 3...
That's a good idea. I gave him some water with electrolytes through a syringe, and spoon fed him a mash of chicken feed and water, just in case he hasn't eaten or drank.
I know of a vet that will see chickens, so I will try to get an appointment for Friday or this weekend. I'd rather know what is wrong before treatment, since I've never dealt with disease before. I'll probably get the meds anyway though, just so I have them on hand. Thanks again, I appreciate...
I noticed this morning that my polish rooster was lethargic and had a yellow discharge from his nose. This afternoon he was moving around a bit more, but I saw that his eyes had a discharge too. His face was also a little puffy/swollen. I've given him electrolytes so far, and there's a heat lamp...
Does he have any toys? He could be bored and looking for something to play with. You could give him like a toilet or paper towel roll or a paper cup for him to chew up and throw around :)
These are my three bunnies :)
Honey Bunny, some kind of mix, in her Christmas sweater
Chunky, a lionhead mix, with some of her awards
And Simba, a lionhead who enjoys the attention from everyone at the county fair every year :)
I'll have polish and polish silkie crosses in a couple months. I might also have some frizzle polish silkie crosses. I don't ship though so you'd have to be close to NJ
